David is a self styled multi-instrumentalist, with experience playing instruments ranging from brass to electronics.

Born in West Africa he was well accustomed to percussive music, yet it was when studying in Northern Ireland that he first played the Djembe drum. Since then playing differing musical genres has been his pas-sion, he’s comfortable in styles ranging from Klezmer to Drum&bass.

David spend his days working as a workshop facilitator specialising in world music and music production.

He is the founder of the Drum Young Orchestra the North East’s primer youth percussion ensemble, and Rhythm Culture, a music tuition enterprise focused on developing musicality in the region.

David graduated in music production and has since spent time composing arrangements for various com-missions, projects and producers all with his unique blend of percussive tones and intricate beats.

As a member of Groove All Stars he has enjoyed playing the trumpet, along with an assortment of world percussion, to fit the groove’s mood.
